Artist
Teaching Waldo Jeffers is the recording name of Matthew Schmahl, formerly a member of the Irvine folk super-group Swim for Cancun (now Little Desert). The project began as another means of continuing his habitual procrastination, but has slowly transformed into an actual artistic endeavor. The name, Teaching Waldo Jeffers, is taken from the song "The Gift" by the Velvet Underground, a spoken word short story written by Lou Reed, and read by John Cale.
