about

Taro Kawasaki is a 22 year old laptop wizard from Kawagoe City, Japan. He began playing the piano when he was in primary school and added guitar to his repertoire by the time he was in high school playing in a few bands along the way. When he was 18 he started making music on his PC. His initial experiments resulted in some sample based hip hop, dodgey lounge music, and cheap techno. Be it a blessing or a curse, in 2006 his PC hard drive crashed and after long hours of mourning, he decided to shift away from electronic music all together and picked up his guitar. After setting aside his resentment, he moved to Tokyo and rediscovered his love for electronic production and blended it with acoustic instruments. It’s lucky for us, because the results are something amazingly beautiful and fresh. “Sing Me a Song” the debut release from Taro Kawasaki, was recorded during three weeks in May of 2007. It reads like chapters of a book or movements of a symphony with recurring themes cropping up throughout it’s four tracks. This EP will be released as a limited 3” cdr, and digital format via iTunes.
