Tarkovsky Fields is an American instrumental band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania consisting of multi-instrumentalists James Bentz and Doug Fisk. The band explores themes associated with the occult, the night, metaphysics, and phantasmagoria, adding context to heavy, riff-based compositions that rely on the listener to envision narratives through their own imagination, in absence of lyrics. The vocation of the project is to create atmospheric and predominantly non-linear music, unrestricted by any one particular genre or style, that accompany dark aesthetics through additional means of collaboration with like-minded artists. Their debut album "Midnight Emanations" was self released on November 17th, 2023, after several years of writing and recording material in Bentz's woodland home studio.
