Artist
English version : Throughout her career spanning almost 22 years, Tanya St Val has joyfully experimented with a wide variety of musical styles. Zouk, of course, has earned her fame, from her African tours with Expérience 7 and Zouk Machine (in the late 80s) to the legendary stages of the Zénith (June 2000) and l’Olympia (December 2002). But the girl from Basse-Terre has also sung, in her inimitable style, beside the most famous of French rockers, Johnny Halliday (1994); rap artists: Passi, Doc Gynéco, Neg Marrons; the new wave of Guadeloupean music: Akiyo and Dominique Coco; and Compas: Magnum Band and Alan Cavé. Not to mention, Biguine with Malavoi and her two passions, Gospel and Blues, duos with Francis Cabrel, Michael Jones, Paul Person and Patrick Verbaeck on the concept “Autour du Blues.” With nearly a dozen albums recorded, not including her numerous collaborations with other artists and concerts around the world, Tanya is considered as a Diva in the pantheon of Caribbean music.
