At 6’5” he is often dubbed “The Big Man of Sydney HipHop”, Swarmy has been involved in local Hip Hop since the early nineties. His introduction to the culture stemmed from a love of graffiti and a quest for identity. Around 2001 Swarmy became focused on rocking mic’s. Rhyming at open mic night’s and community radio shows in south west Sydney, as well as entering various battles including the 2001 Big Day Out battle which he won. He also won a song writing competition run by The Labour Council with “MayDay MayDay” – a song expressing the importance of workers rights and support of unionism. Swarmy is one third of Hip Hop Crew – “Overproof”. Along with co-members Fame and Abuse he has performed extensively from 2003 to present date supporting local & international acts all around Australia.
