Long time CA transplant Suburban Slim has been in Oregon since 1981. During this time he has astonished crowds with his unbelievably soulful voice while baffling other guitarists with his crushing, mellifluous and seemingly endless ideas on his instrument. Phil Wagner aka Suburban Slim is a true modern day guitar slinger/songwriter with soul! Billed as a "One of a kind fiery blend of original blues, rockabilly, surf and vintage R&B" band, Surburban Slim plays with The Strange Tones. The multi-talented Suburban Slim plays lead guitar, rhythm guitar, vocals, trumpet, and bass for The Strange Tones. Suburban Slim has been nominated for several Cascade Blues Association's Muddy Awards, including winning Best Blues Electric Guitar in 2005, 2006 and 2008.
