Started in 2004, originally called "Freaks flicking snollies at passing cars" later becoming "Friends of none". The band started as an expression project between Franco Fernandes (bass) and James Acker (guitar). Influenced by punk bands and skateboarding, songs were written in an unorganised and messy way. This changed by the joining of Edward Melish (drums), Andrew Lord (guitar) and Robert Volker (vocals). The first gig which happened to be James' birthday party was held in a church. Within months the band started making a name for themselves which lead to another name change due to Body Boarders giving them stick about the popular body bordering DVD "No Friends". This time the band settled on the name "Stronger Than" The first EP titled "Remember the brave" was recorded and released in 2005. Having made a name for themselves in the Cape Town scene, the band began going through difficulties after the 2nd EP "The Taylor and the Type Writer" was being recorded in 2006. Having been labelled as a "Christian" band, members found it difficult still feel the passion they once did about making music on religious terms. In 2007, guitarist James left to the UK on a gap year leaving the band inactive for 9 months. The band reunited in 2008 and continued to play shows and in hope to release "The Taylor and the Type Writer" EP. After 3 months of being back together, the difficult decision came from all the members to brake up due to what the band was and what it had become. From S
