Straight Steel & Wire is based out of Northern Virginia - its members frequenting the local music scene for over 20 years. SS&W saddled up in 2003 as an offshoot of many a night spent on the front porch picking and drinking. That front-porch feel still resonates in their live shows and recordings. SS&W’s sound is an amalgam of rock-n-roll, country, and Appalachian folk and, as their card says, It’s Nothing Willie Wouldn’t Play. Their combined years of exposure to punk, Rock-n-Roll, bluegrass, and Bach, have whittled down to a famous cyclic, thumping, interval of melodic happiness.
