Stone Ave has emerged from its inception as a backyard-BBQ-beats project, headed up by Stone (Geoff Howell), into a 7-piece lineup of talented musicians and songwriters from around southern California ready to explode on the scene. Featuring platinum-award-winning producer Lewis Richards, and select artists from 17th Street recording studio in Costa Mesa, Stone Ave is a reggae-rock/pop/hip-hop machine crankin’ out quality tunes and ready for business. In just three months since forming the band in late June 2010, Stone Ave has already released an 11-track debut full-length album, Lose Control (featuring the single “Slow it Down”), which showcases a breadth of musicality and invention only achieved through the wide range of influences and flavor the featured artists bring. Stone bounced around the underground Los Angeles circuit working with various hip-hop producers, spitting truth about life experience with which every man can relate. He first sharpened his MC skills while attending UC Santa Barbara and gained attention on and around campus, infusing his fresh sound with soul, rock, and reggae, drawing comparisons to Atmosphere.
