Stieber Twins are a German hip-hop duo from Heidelberg, consisting of the twin brothers Martin and Christian Stieber (born 6 November 1972). Performing under the names Marshall Mar and Luxus Chris, they have been active as graffiti artists, breakdancers, rappers, producers, and DJs. The duo have been involved in the hip-hop scene since 1984, initially as dancers and later as graffiti artists and beatboxers. From 1992 onward, they began producing their own music. Their first instrumental tracks, "Just Writin’ My Name" and "Breakers Revenge 93", appeared on the album "Alte Schule", released by MZEE Records, in collaboration with Zeb.Roc.Ski (Akim Walta), the founder of the label. The first tracks on which they performed as rappers, "HipHop und Rap" and "Allein zu zweit", were released in 1995 on the compilation "Die Klasse von '95". A maxi-single under the same title also featured contributions from artists including MC Rene, Der Tobi & Das Bo, Spax, Massive Töne, Fettes Brot, ZM Jay, Ferris MC, Zeb.Roc.Ski, and DJ Mirko Machine. The Stieber Twins are regarded as pioneers of German hip-hop, particularly for their influence on production styles. Martin Stieber has produced music for various hip-hop artists and was interviewed for the documentary "First There Was the Beat", which focuses on hip-hop producers.
