Sten Melin (b. 1957) is a Swedish composer and musician, executive director of the Visby International Centre For Composers. He started playing the trumpet at the age of 10 and eventually became a composer. His teachers and mentors include Gunnar Bucht, Pär Lindgren, and Sven-David Sandström. Melin has written over 30 compositions, ranging from solo pieces to orchestral works. Since 2000, Sten Melin acts as a president of the Society of Swedish Composers.
