Starving Narcissist is an acoustic bedroom indie project created by 19-year-old Zackary Rucker that pulls influences from emo, folk, punk, and others. It was created in 2023, when Zackary was 16, when the song 'Is This What You Wanted? (Dysania) ' was released. It was released under the 'Starving Narcissist' name, because it didn't fit in under his previous moniker of Novanoir. Soon after, he would release a second single - 'Blacktop Angels' - in July 2023, following which he'd reveal on Discord that he was working on the debut Starving Narcissist album. In September of 2023, he'd announce 'And That Means Everything', which released on November 16th 2023. He release 'Anatomy Of The Artist (Anemia)' - a bonus track to the album - onto streaming services as a single. In April of 2024, Zackary would release the single 'Limbic System's Rag Doll' (as well as re-releasing 'Happy Birthday' (released in 2022 under the Novanoir name) as 'Happy Birthday, Me' two days later). He'd release another single - 'Sleepless Friends' - in June of 2024, before announcing the second Starving Narcissist album. On the 12th of July, 2024, 'We Sapient Stardust' would be released. On the 20th of November, 2024, Zackary released 'MAL DU PAYS (Monophobia)' for the first anniversary of videogame 'In Stars and Time'. It would quickly become popular within the fandom, and as of August 10th, 2025, it is his most scrobbled song with over 4,000 scrobbles and 200 listeners. User-contributed text is availab
