about

Johan Renck is a Swedish musician (under the stage name Stakka Bo) and music video director. Since 1999, he has directed music videos for a number of artists including Kylie Minogue (Love At First Sight), Madonna (Nothing Really Matters and Hung up), Robbie Williams (Tripping), New Order (Crystal and Krafty), The Streets (Dry your eyes) and Beyoncé (Me, Myself and I). Stakka Bo scored a hit in 1993/1994 with the song Here We Go from the debut album Supermarket. This song has been featured on an episode of "Beavis and Butt-head" although Beavis thought it was Ace of Base. Stakka Bo scored another successful single in some European countries with 1996's Great Blondino from the often Stereo MC's-esque album The Great Blondino. The third album, Jr., released almost six years after "The Great Blondino", adopted a more pop-oriented sound, often resembling that of successful 80's artists such as Erasure. However, it more or less completely failed to make any impact and Renck has not released any further Stakka Bo albums since.
