D:Ream are a Northern Irish pop and dance group best known for their 1994 UK number-one single "Things Can Only Get Better". They achieved eight additional UK top 40 hits, including "U R the Best Thing", "Take Me Away", and "Shoot Me with Your Love". Both of their 1990s studio albums reached the UK top five. The group’s lineup varied over time but was centered on lead singer Peter Cunnah. The live band included keyboard player Brian Cox, who later became an academic and television science broadcaster, although Cunnah played keyboards on the studio recordings. Vocalist Nick Shaw performed on various tours, covering songs such as "Things Can Only Get Better" and other hits.
