From the hart of the oil-capitol of Norway, the five-piece musical monster called Spit emerges. Created as a mutual idea and vision between guitarplayer Jan Eirik Forland, and bassplayer Andreas Grepstad, this band first saw the light of day late autumn 2001. The band quickly got the chance to play live, and their debutconcert became a nervous encounter with a fully packed Folken. After several gigs both within and outside their local environment, Spit has gotten the reputation for being an aggressive, energetic and seriously tight band. βWe have always prioritized playing live,β says bassplayer Andreas Grepstad. βThe energy of the music is always best portrayed within the interaction of like-minded audience.β Spit consists of the following line-up: Mark Haveland (vocals), Jan Eirik Forland (guitar), Erlend Berg (guitar), Andreas Grepstad (bass) and Steinar Fattnes (drums). This line-up is a result of a natural evolution and experimentation. Spit plays a raw, brutal, energetic and melodic metal. The music has a rough dynamic sense to it, and is very much constructed around the concept of contrasts. You can expect to hear massive and harmonic guitarriffs, pulsating basslines and in-your-face drums. In between all this reigns the aggressive and agonizing vocals of Mark Haveland.
