There are two bands called Sophisticated Boom Boom: Sophisticated Boom Boom (1) was an all-female new wave indie pop band from Büren an der Aare, Bern, Switzerland. Their only album, "Sophisticated Boom Boom", was released in 1982 on Off Course Records. Vocalists Mari-Anne and Esther later went on to form Chin Chin. Line-up: Mari-Anne Sunnier (vocals) Monique Sieber (vocals) Esther (vocals) Buzz Maeschi (bass) Ernest Maeschi (guitar) Pasquale Isernia (drums) Sophisticated Boom Boom (2) was another new wave, indie pop girl group from Glasgow, Scotland, influenced by Dolly Mixture and Siouxsie and the Banshees. They did three sessions with John Peel in the early 80's, but left no official recordings, except the song "The Only One", their contribution for "The Girls Can't Help It - A Modern Girl Group" compilation. The group later changed their name to His Latest Flame and released several singles in the late 80's.
