The Jazzateers were a guitar band from Glasgow, Scotland formed in 1980 by Ian Burgoyne (guitar) and Keith Band (bass) which featured various other personnel over the years, notably Grahame Skinner (Hipsway) on vocals, Matthew Wilcox (vocals), Colin Auld on drums and Douglas Macintyre (Love & Money, Sugartown etc.) on guitars. According to the liner notes of "I shot the president" The Jazzateers came to an end at a gig on Friday 13th, 1987 when after a broken bass string, the band just called it a day and walked off ... There were 3 Jazateers albums - "Lee" (1982), "The Gun Album" (1983) and the unreleased "Blood is Sweeter than Honey" ... and finally in 1997 the "I shot the president" collection from Marina Records which has The Gun Album and (I think) most of Blood is Sweeter than Honey on one CD.
