Sometimes a Ghost is an instrumental band formed in summer of 2012 that is a blend of math rock and post rock hailing from the San Gabriel Valley, just west of Los Angeles. The band is made up of Michael Kemp & Matt Mallory (guitars), Josh Sanchez (bass), and Michael O'Hern (drums) and was formed after a long time musical friendship between the four that took different shapes and forms since the late 2000s. They cite Foals, TTNG, El Ten Eleven, Maps & Atlases, and Don Caballero as a few of their shared influences.
