Belgian band based around the female jazz & pop singer Sofie Verbruggen. Sofie is a prominent member in the world of Belgian Showbiz Whether it was as a singer in the popular band Trinity or performing as a solo singer, it’s clear Sofie has been writing Belgian music history. She managed to conquer hearts of the audience with her classy concerts. Her musical heritage, married with her love for pop, rock, R&B and jazz, combined to form her highly personal, distinctive vocal style. The Antwerp born singer first hit the stage at the age of 14 . A few years later, she won the first prize and the press prize in a national TV contest "Ontdek De Ster" (Discover A Star). As a result of this contest she started to work with Belgium's number one pop band "The Pebbles". Together they formed a band called Trinity, which was signed by Phonogram. This collaboration resulted in 8 hit singles and 2 albums in the Benelux. In 1981 Sofie, after deciding to go solo, represented Belgium at the Korean Song festival where she received the "Most Outstanding Performance Award" with a song called "He loves me". In the same year she signed a contract with Ariola Belgium, which resulted in a big hit with one of the most beautiful ballads ever to come out of Belgium: 'I love you'. The song was also a big success in Japan, Korea & Thailand. With her album "When Morning Comes", Sofie confirms her exceptional status as a jazz singer.
