Hailing from Southern Ontario, Socialight is a Canadian band intent on breaking down barriers. Their label debut "Change is Everything" is set for an August 2006 release on punk record label Score Records. Produced by Scott Hackwith (Ramones, Iggy Pop, Dig), the album is packed with high-energy alternative punk anthems, including the first single "Broken". The members of Socialight initially built a fanbase under their previous moniker, “Amped”. As one of Canada's premier emerging punk bands they stayed true to their vision of hard work, sacrifice, and a keen sense of humor. In 2003, the band emerged as one of the Top 10 bands showcasing at the Canadian Music Week conference and CTV National News featured them as one of Canada's hottest independent bands. Hard work playing clubs and all ages shows led to high profile opening slots for The Used, Blink 182 and Sum 41. 2005 saw the band embark on a legendary Punk right of passage, The Warped Tour. It was only a matter of time before the rock and roll gods smiled upon them to take them to the next level. The team at Score Records were instantly blown away by Socialight’s incredible songs and high-energy performance. A deal was struck and the band was LA bound to head into the studio and record with Hackwith.
