Snug was a UK powerpop rock band formed by Ed Harcourt, James Deane, Ed Groves, and Johnny Lewesley at school. Managed by Roxy Musics's Phil Manzanera, the band signed to WEA records. Following moderate success with the single Beatnik Girl (the promo video starred blonde bombshell Melinda Messenger), the band secured support slots with Green Day and Catatonia. The band eventually split allowing Ed Harcourt to pursue a solo career. James and Ed Groves formed Numo.
