Artist
Smugglers Run are a British hardcore indie band from Sheffield, United Kingdom. The band formed in 2008 and consists of Liam John Bardell (guitar and vocals), Nathan Croot (guitar), David Hewitt (bass) and Robbie Hesketh (drums). They draw influences from a wide variety of artists for example The Sex Pistols, The Strokes, The Hives and The Libertines to name but a few. The band had an explosive start selling out the O2 Academy before their first anniversary and embarked on a full UK tour shortly afterwards. A lot has changed since then and the band are now heading off in a whole new direction. Their latest single ‘The Indifference of Nature’ is more mature in both concept and content. The band are at the heart of the new Crystal Ship Studios in Sheffield, and after signing, they are now writing and recording for their releases later this year. The new material is heavy, moody and deep, as is their attitude towards their careers in the future. The band say they aren’t interested in any quick fixes, they know that to stand the test of time they need to do what all the greats did; be patient and sculpt their creations. Smugglers Run will sit back and let it come to them, ‘Organic’ seems to be their buzzword! So look out for this lot in 2011, they’re hitting the road in a couple of months in the UK and in Europe.
