The very first line-up of the group dates back to the early ‘90s, but it was only a year ago that the band found itself a definitive formation. The pop/noise and space-rock influence of Gabriele G. (guitars & voice) merges with the shoegaze and brit pop contaminations of Pier F.M. (bass & sampling, ex-member of ‘Dream Void’), while the rhymths and beats of the drummer Francesco B. (drummer of ‘Stoner Kebab’) are keyed to more aggressive and powerful dynamics such as those of the grunge and stoner groups of the north west American coast. The circle closes with the arrival of Francesco L. whose melodic, electric six strings bring an added touch of personality and colour to Smell of Trees, filling out and completing the overall sound. With the final line-up completed, the band started working on their first demo and in September 2005 "The Britney Spears Experience" was released.
