The band Skyzm was formed a few years ago when a couple of people in Breda (The Netherlands) came together to start a band who tried to find their limits by lots of experimenting while not being stuck with a certain particular type of music. At first this seemed to be rather difficult to achieve, and after a few last changes of bandmembers, a dedicated group was formed which seemed to be a tight group who didn’t just give up and kept on working hard on what they tried to accomplish. Skyzm is a band who does whatever it likes at any specific moment, that’s why the style is difficult to describe, and cannot simply be placed into a package with other bands with similar genres. Besides many complex rhytmic pieces, their music also contains beautiful melodic parts. In the beginning their numbers where very fragmentic from design, but while Skyzm kept on working on their sound, one could experience a better songstructure, this is all done in a way that style and concept is being retained on all individual songs. Influences are as expected from a wide scale, most recognizable in their own creativity are the bands The Dillinger Escape Plan, Neurosis, Meshuggah and The Mars Volta. When they perform it’s majorly important for them that their playing gets as tight as possible, while trying to keep the attention of the audience so the audience can feel the energy bursting off the stage. Since their songs vary so much because of all the different styles they use, this won’t be a problem
