Artist
Simon Robertson (AKA Gen'ik) and Stephen Root were the two composers and producers for the first two entries of EXTREME-G futuristic racing game series. The first game Extreme-G released on Nintendo N64 exclusively features uplifting techno music with groovy bass lines and memorable melodies. Extreme-G: XG2 (sometimes spelled as Extreme-G 2", "extreme-g XG2" or even "Extreme-G: -XG2-" due to the logo's multiple interpretations), however, was released on N64 and PC, therefore each port contains its own OST version with both, in regards to the musical style, shifted towards drum 'n' bass and jungle. While the N64 version has a minimalistic soundtrack, mostly based on the drum loops, percussions and bass lines with a dark touch and not much melody to it, the PC port contains a fully developed HQ score with atmospheric and melodic jungle and drum 'n' bass even with some lucid feel. The latter had the CD-DA format so one could easily throw the game's disc into a CD player and listen to it as a regular music album. Both soundtracks fully share only "Hydra Prime", "Introduction" themes, the track "Farron" shares the same beat and bass line but is reduced due to N64's sound chip limitations. The metadata confusion in terms of album names also takes place for the reason of having two ports of the game and the soundtracks produced by the same artist, so it has lead to a situation when a track list doesn't exist for any album on last.fm.
