This band is now known as "Romeros", please change tags accordingly Shut Up Meg is a four piece band from Tamworth, NSW, Australia, and comprises of the following people: Matt 'Maft' Raffaele- Guitarist/Vocals Andrew 'Dougy' Rutherford- Guitarist/Vocals Jack 'Awesome' Perry-Brown- Drums Alexander 'Jacobs' Jacobs- Bass/Lead Vocals The idea for Shut Up Meg was hatched by guitarists Matt 'Maft' Raffaele and Andrew 'Dougy' Rutherford after the breakup of Dougy's previous band Malignant Ballet. After being frustrated with not having an active band to play with anymore, Dougy turned to Matt, who had his own band with Shut Up Meg's drummer Jack 'Awesome' Perry-Brown all of whom have been friends at school. They decided to dismantle Matt and Jacks previous band Personal Vendetta (much to the displeasure of the third member of Personal Vendetta Joe Newton). It was then that a bassist was needed, and fellow school friend Alex Jacobs seemed a logical choice. Very soon after the formation of the band, news of a charity concert performed by local high school bands caught the attention of the band, and they were added to the bill straight away after their performance of 'Helicopter' by Bloc Party (which has become somewhat of a band and fan favourite) at Calrossy Girls High School in front of the school assembly.
