Composing since the age of 8, I’ve had a lifetime love affair with music. Starting with lessons in both classical piano and drums at a very young age, I quickly grew to appreciate music in all forms and styles. I spent a lot of my spare time fooling around with my own simple songs, usually when I was supposed to be practicing for my lessons… The first year of high school in eastern Toronto I found myself immersed in urban music and exploring the many forms of hip hop. In 2001, I started to play with loops, joined an online community called Acidplanet.com and began composing pieces spanning all of the genres I was listening to at the time; trance, drum and bass, ambient and atmospheric stuff, IDM, various forms of breakbeat, and hip hop. Through blending my love of classical and jazz music with my new-found passion for urban and electronica music, I started to develop my own style; and by 17, I had a library of 70 works (of questionable quality) and was seriously considering music as a career. A placement at Toronto’s MCS Recording Studios introduced me to the precise art of audio engineering and led to the building of my own little studio. I began to work with friends and artists around me, getting as much experience as possible and learning and growing as an artist, a producer and an audio engineer.
