Sheriff of Hong Kong was formed in Soest and Baarn, both small villages in the Netherlands. Sheriff of Hong Kong is an energetic rock band with experimental influences. The band started out in 2006. In the summer of 2006, Tom Meijer, Harmen Sielcken and Marnix Dorrestein experimented together as well as apart in different bands. At the end of the summer Tom Meijer decided it was time for a ‘no-nonsense’ band and asked Harmen Sielcken and Marnix Dorrestein to join. That ‘nonsense’ came back fast enough, when it became clear that there was more to the boys than simply teenage drama.
