Formed in their native Isle of Anglesey, there’s something of an alternative reality in Seagull Kinevils grunge inspired full-throttle rock that can only have been inspired by living in a community connected to the mainland by only 2 bridges! Establishing themselves in the local Welsh scene under the name Valleum, the band quickly gained a hot reputation for mixing surreal lyrical rhetoric with barnstorming performances, resulting in an ITV appearance, airplay on BBC 6 Music and support slots with the likes of Skindred, Supergrass, Sikth and Chumbawumba. Tours of Norway and Ireland (supporting the legendary Shane McGowen) quickly followed but with the addition of a new drummer the band decided to start afresh as Seagull Kinevill. Their new single and album title track ‘To Insanity and Beyond’ typifies the band’s sound. A tale of fantasist escapism and humour driven observation set perfectly against a back drop of wild grunge fuelled rock n roll, it’s the sound of band that may not be too serious about their music - but who still take music very seriously indeed.
