review from Buzzjack.com Seagull Kinevill are quite simply one of the most unique bands I have heard in a long long time and although musically its nothing new (they seem to be stuck in a classic rock/grunge time-warp) it's actually their lyrics that make them stand out from the crowd! Just imagine if Captain Beefheart had been born on a little island off the coast of Wales in the mid-80's and had then got heavily into the early 90's rock movement and you will get some idea of where these nutters are coming from. The over the top imagery, bizarre and surreal lyrically content and tight as vice musicianship really make for a delightfully different listening experience and my oh my do we need more bands like this. That is not to say they are not serious about music of course - they just don't take themselves too seriously and all the better for it because the music world is full to the max with poncy posing indie types with their pointy shows, crap tashes and grandad cardigans. What we need are more bands who sing about hamsters that lack a sense of humour (To Insanity and Beyond), bully kids who grow up to marry unsatisfied lesbians (You're f***ed Buts Its Ok) and have the nerve to take classic tunes like Ram Jams 'Black Betty' and rewrite the words to address Bananaman's fear of black lemons (Black Lemons). 'To Insanity and Beyound' is a winner all-round and the aptly titled album should really be making its way onto any rock loving muso's iPod ASAP! It might just make t
