About Scorned Embrace Scorned Embrace began in the summer of 2007 with one goal in mind: to push the boundaries of metalcore. The five piece group featuring Mike Clark (vocals), Elliott Flanagan (guitar), Logan Matti (drums), Mike Hendrix (Drix, bass), and Josh Williams (guitar), takes inspiration from bands like Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, and Unearth. Scorned embrace blends these influences to produce music riddled with crushing breakdowns, intricate syncopated riffs, and melodies that will be stuck in your head for weeks. Combined with an energy infused live show full of humorous antics, the band forms a crisp new metalcore experience unique to the Tucson local music scene. *Surgeon General's Warning*: clinical trials have demonstrated that listening to their newest album "Enclosures" can lead to singing their choruses in the shower! The writing process began with Elliott, Drix, and Logan. They sent a three-song demo overseas to their good friend, Mike Clark (Vocals), then serving in Afghanistan. Mike returned to America in late 2007 with fresh lyrics, and his friend, Steve Pardo (guitar), moved from Germany to round out the five man lineup. Scorned Embrace hit the ground running soon after with their first show in February 2008. After a string of successful local shows, a Battle of the Bands victory, and a teeming fan base, Scorned Embrace decided it was time to record their first album.
