Artist
Based in New Zealand in the 1980's, Satellite Spies was formed by Mark Loveys and Deane Sutherland in conjunction with record producer Glyn Tucker Jnr as a vehicle for releasing an album of songs written by Mark Loveys and already partly recorded by Loveys' former band "Blase". The title track of the album "Destiny in Motion" (produced by Tim Palmer) received considerable airplay in NZ and is considered to be the band's most popular song. There were a number of line-up changes during the 1980's following the departure of Sutherland in 1986. More recently there has been controversy over ownership of the name Satellite Spies, when Sutherland reappeared in NZ with a new band claiming the right to use the former band's name.
