Sarita Lorena is the pseudonym of Brazilian-born, The Netherlands-based pop singer, Sarah de Sousa Gonçalves. Born in Brazil on New Year's Day of 1997, she moved to The Netherlands in 2006, aged 9. She soon found herself in the village of IJzendijke, Zeeland province. She became a singer and her career started to take off in 2018, after a talent session for radio station, FunX. She independently released the Dutch-language track 'Laat Me Niet Los' in 2018 and was soon contracted by Sony Music, a fact that she celebrated with a brace of singles, 'On Top' and 'Denk Maar Niet' (2019). May 2019 saw a collaboration with Ronnie Flex, entitled 'Haal Me Naar Boven'. In 2020 she worked with the AFC Ajax football club, who asked her to write a welcome song for their latest Brazilian player, Antony. 'Bem-vindo Antony' was a huge streaming success and featured raps by Brazilian Ajax footballers, David Neres and Danilo Pereira da Silva.
