Sarcophagic formed in January of 2013, in the trio of Heretic Prime, Rob Samhain, and Rage. Initially cutting their teeth on tracks from Heretic’s solo project IRONHAND, the band quickly found their way into unbelievably dark territory, exploring the themes of death, insanity, and other forms of misanthropy. Sarcophagic played their first show in July of 2013 at a small bar in NJ, with the audience in a standing ovation and demanding an encore. Following the release of BIRTH OF THE BETRAYER, 2014 is certain to be assaulted with a slew of violent, over the top performances. As of April 2014, we are pleased to announce we have officially signed with Xperiment XIII, where “Birth of the Betrayer” will be re-released with a new tracklist, along with the upcoming companion / remix album “Afterbirth” to follow in 2015. Our partnership with the label will allow us to bring new material and physical CD releases to you in a level of quality we could not have achieved on our own. Thanks to all for the support at the beginning of an exciting time for us, and we look forward to creating the darkest industrial metal that we can! BIRTH OF THE BETRAYER is a violent, pulsing blend of EBM and death metal percussion textured with power tools, heavy chugging guitars against black metal style tremolos, backing choirs, strings, and horns, sung out by deep demonic growls with vicious, shredding screams, all coming together to form a battery to the senses like you’ve not heard before.
