Artist
Sam Eddington is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter from the United States. He was trained as a classical pianist, but began writing and recording pop music in the mid-'90s. Together with sister Hannah Eddington, he formed the experimental/avant-garde outfit The Doorknobs in 1995; they would continue making music until 2003. Alongside The Doorknobs, Eddington was also also involved with a second experimental project, Obey The Toaster. Eddington continued to cycle through several other projects for the next decade, including experimental groups Stop, That Fish Is Almost Human, and Recycled, Houston-based rock bands Ninth Configuration and Denim Samurai, and pop group Formal Thought Disorder, which saw him working again with Hannah. He also played keyboards briefly for Eddington/Wheatley, Future Imperfect, and Rob Taylor and the Authority. Alongside these endeavors, Eddington also records music under his own name, ranging from straightforward garage rock to whispered death-folk and fractured electronica. More recently, he has added keyboards to The Chroma Blend and Deep Tree Mantra before electing to go solo again.
