Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, Saalim Ismail (born May 3rd 1985) is an upcoming independent recording artist, composer, creative entrepreneur and humanitarian; whose sound could best be described as alternative pop and adult contemporary. Since starting out at the age of 12, people grew to know him for his likable character and big voice who has performed across South Africa’s major cities and towns, shared the stage with some of the country’s household names such as Danny K, Loyiso and Freshly Ground among others at prestige events; and has also been featured in local/national media. Throughout his musical journey, Saalim has given of his time to several charities which includes CANSA, Diabetes SA and The Tygerbear Foundation which are but a few to mention; and is an official ambassador of the Woodside Special Care Center. Saalim qualified at Stellenbosch University for business management, as well as Damelin College for sound and production which forms only part of his several diploma worth arsenal.
