Artist
Typical indie haircut, typical indie glasses, but that's about all that's typical about this twenty-something songwriter. Confused by life, scared of death, heartbroken, but ultimately content, Ryne Watts writes songs about what he knows -- the people he loves, the places he's been, and all the experiences and emotions associated with them. Though raised on folk greats like Odetta, Cash, and Dylan, and taught his first songs -- folk songs -- on guitar at age 5 by his dad, a teenage Watts strayed from his roots to play rock'n'roll. Blending the pop sensibilities he learned in the rock bands of his teenage years with simple and honest lyrics, Watts plays down to earth folk music that tell the stories of protest, mourning, and joy -- the universal truths to which we all can relate.
