Artist
Joe Crookston is an American folk singer from Randolph, Ohio. Crookston's first label album, Fall Down as the Rain, was selected by Performing Songwriter Magazine as one of 2004's top 12 self-produced independent recordings, Crookston was a "Most Wanted" artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and a Mountain Stage New Song finalist. He was a recipient of a Rockefeller Foundation Songwriting Grant, which enabled him to travel around the State of New York, interview local residents, gather stories and write songs based on his experiences for a project called “Songs of the Finger Lakes.” In February 2009, his second CD, Able Baker Charlie & Dog was given the "Album of the Year" award by the Folk Alliance International in a ceremony in Memphis, TN.
