2009 - 2012 Ruins of Earth was a Melodic Death Metal band hailing from the South of the UK. Formed in late 2009 with a hard work ethic and a passion for metal, the quintet self-released their first EP ‘Ashes of the Ocean’. The EP received critical acclaim through the likes of Metal Hammer & Rock Sound with their songs getting highly sought after spins from XFM and Total Rock radio: “This Hampshire quintet show incredible maturity for such a young band. Every song on this five-track EP is a beastly mix of technicality & groove” Metal Hammer 8/10 After relentless touring in support of this release and over 150 shows around the UK, the band hit the studio in late 2010 to record the follow up release ‘Misguided Lifeforms’ available now for FREE download. Combining melody with musical technicality, the songs are delivered in an impassioned spirit coupling hooks and rhythms with groove and meaning. From the relentless drumming and intricate guitar sections, Ruins of Earth weave their way from melody to brutality with ease orchestrated and held together by the passionate lyrical content. The band show their ability to mix and combine genres delivering memorable and intelligent songs citing such influences as The Black Dahlia Murder, Cult of Luna and Sylosis.
