Rogerio Botter Maio Acoustic and electric bass player, composer, arranger and producer Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Rogerio has lived eleven years between Europe and the United States where he performed in several music styles, but always enriching them with the strength and richness of his homeland music traditions. From 1987 through 1989 studied in Austria at the Hochschule fur Musik in Graz in both jazz and classical programs. In 1989, he lived one year in Rome, Italy, where besides actively performing, he played the role of a musician in the movie "God Father III". In 1990 moved to Paris where he lived and performed for a year. After being awarded a scholarship for the Berklee College of Music, moved to Boston in 1991 to study for one year. During the following five years in New York City worked with Paquito d'Rivera, Lionel Hampton, Claudio Roditi, Manfredo Fest, Leny Andrade, Hendrik Meurkens among others. His main recordings were with Gerry Mulligan & Jane Duboc (93), Dom Salvador Trio (Transition-98), Hendrik Meurkens (October Colors and Poema Brasileiro), Manfredo Fest (Fascinating Rhythm) and Nana Vasconcelos (Fragments), Weber Iago (Children of the Wind), Jovino Santos Neto (Roda Carioca) and Nelson Ayres (Perto do Coracao). As a composer, arranger and producer, released in 1996 his first CD 'CRESCENDO' independently in USA. In 2000 released his second CD 'APRENDIZ' which marks his return to Brazil. Ever since, he played with the Dom Salvador Quart
