Artist
Rip Gerber is an award-winning singer-songwriter whose music combines authentic storytelling, heartfelt vocals, and cinematic scope. Known for creating songs that feel both personal and expansive, Rip delivers raw country-rock anthems and soulful ballads with genuine transparency, sharing stories of heartache and resilience from the viewpoint of a broken yet grateful survivor. Drawing comparisons to Bruce Springsteen, Mark Knopfler, Jackson Browne, and Eric Church, Rip’s sound is rooted in acoustic textures and melodic songwriting, layered with subtle folk and Americana influences. Rip once opened for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. He has been featured in mainstream and industry press, including SPIN, LA Weekly, Billboard, Forbes, The Observer, The Guardian, and Entrepreneur. Born into a musical family—his great-great-grandfather invented the euphonium—Gerber’s artistic journey began at the age of five, when he performed at the Kennedy Center. A Virginia native from a family of plumbers, Rip paid his way through school and eventually earned an MBA from Harvard. After a diverse career as a CIA analyst, Firestone factory worker, and Silicon Valley tech executive, personal tragedies struck in 2020, including divorce and his father’s sudden death from COVID. Then, music became Rip’s lifeline, turning his grief into songs of gratitude and redemption. Rip’s 2025 debut single, “THREE-CHORD TOWN,” hit #1 on Amazon Music and introduced listeners to his raw, heartfelt storytelling.
