Artist
The Swiss-French composer Richard Dubugnon was born in 1968. He has been called the son of Ravel and Prokofiev by the French newspaper Le Figaro, because of the obvious link of his work with the French masters as well as with Russian and Eastern European composers. His music combines refined harmonies with complex counterpoint as well as an original sense of structure and form. His love of opera, film scores and funk gives his music great lyricism, a narrative direction and a strong feeling of rhythm and dynamics. Dubugnon's music also shows great awareness of colour and has been often praised for the quality of its orchestration.
