RENGEKI is a Japanese visual kei band from Tokyo that has been active since 2023. They are part of the loud kei and menhera kei subgenres. The band was formed by former members of AQULOCIELA (アクロシエラ), including vocalist Kazumi, guitarist Ryu, and bassist Suu. Their lineup was later completed by guitarist Nimo and support drummer Ryo, who joined on November 27, 2023. Before forming RENGEKI, the members had played in the symphonic metalcore band Revival of the Era. After their disbanded, they transitioned to AQULOCIELA, a project that explored a different, poppier sound. However, this stylistic shift led to internal struggles for the members, especially Kazumi, who found it difficult to adapt from guitarist to vocalist. This ultimately triggered a desire to return to heavier, darker music, leading to the formation of RENGEKI. On September 23, 2023, during AQULOCIELA's first-anniversary oneman live at Shibuya REX, the band announced their rebranding to RENGEKI, which they framed as a "rebirth" rather than just a name change. This transformation symbolized a complete departure from AQULOCIELA's style, embracing a more aggressive, metalcore sound, reminiscent of their earlier work with ROTE. Their debut single TENSEI (転生, "Rebirth") was released on October 30, 2023. The song marked their shift back to a heavier, symphonic metal sound. The lyrics of TENSEI reflected Kazumi's personal and artistic journey, describing the struggle of not feeling true to himself during AQULOCIELA's
