Quibus is the Dutch producer Martijn Holtslag (1992). He started off as frontman and architect of his ten-piece live band Knarsetand. The formation that mixes Drum’nbass and Dubstep with Balkan, Reggae and GarageRock earned their stripes, to say the least. After a few years of touring and more than 100 steaming stomping shows, a need for more growth came to surface. A transformation from the raw, rugged, stomping festivalgigs towards drowning in quieter, more nuanced, introspective sonic experiments. This resulted in Quibus' first EP Save Some, which was released in the summer of 2016 on the label Shipwrec. Quibus’ spectrum of sound lies there where the warm downtempo from Bonobo and Four Tet and the aerial soundscapes from Burial and Bibio meet with the musical trip from Nils Frahm and Trentemoller's dark danceability.
