Artist
Quarteto Nova Era hailed from Niteroi, Brazil, a small city across the river from Rio de Janeiro. Niteroi had an active music scene in the late 60's/early 70's, but the bands were often overshadowed by their counterparts in Rio and Sao Paulo. A lone 4-song 7" EP, extremely hard to find today, is all the Quarteto managed to release. It's a shame; with greater exposure they could easily have had a place alongside the better known Tropicalia artists of the day. "De Repente" was later put on the "Obsession" compilation released by Bully Records, which was assembled by New York City's Academy Records.
