Prusaku ansamblis were a Latvian blues-rock band formed in 1974. Although their lifespan was only one year long, the band managed to put together one of the greatest albums in Latvian rock history. The cult blues trio was formed by Latvian immigrants in Netherlands. Marks Opeskins met his future guitarist Gundars Rullis in a local blues gig and the two decided to strengthen their creative collaboration by forming a blues band. Thus Prusaku ansamblis (the name taken from a poem by Aleksandrs Čaks) was born. In christmas the band came together to record their first (and only) album - "Dvēsele uz grīdas". Although it proved to be a huge hit, the band decided to split up, while their only recording was gaining a cult status among Latvian listeners. They may have never gained an international fan base, but remain icons in Latvian music history. Before breaking up to seek new challanges the Prusaku ansamblis were: Marks Opeskins - bass guitar, vocals Gundars Rullis - guitar, harmonica Māris Rozenbahs - drums User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
