Bērnības Milicija is a prominent Latvian indie rock and post-punk band known for its melancholic atmosphere, lo-fi aesthetic, and poetic, often existential lyrics. Formed in 2002 in Rīga, Latvia, the group has become a staple of the Latvian alternative music scene. The band was founded by Juris Simanovičs (guitars and vocals), who remains the group's central figure and primary songwriter. Their early sound was characterized as "pseudo post-rock" and "indie psyche," recorded primarily at the legendary Tornis underground studio.
