www.portasound.co.uk www.facebook.com/portasound www.twitter.com/portasound Portasound fuse soaring melodies, driving rhythms and wonky riffs to create genre defying instrumental electronic. Their highly charged live performances take you on a sonic journey with every unexpected twist moving the room from to psychedelic wash to dance-floor filler. Unafraid to mix up their sound, fans of Holy Fuck, Three Trapped Tigers, Fuck Buttons and Metronomy are in for a treat. Biography As a 3 piece they were championed across the country by John Kennedy, Rob da Bank, Tom Robinson and Huw Stephens who, after hearing their remix of Late of the Pier, invited them to Maida Vale for an exclusive BBC Radio 1 Introducing session. Gathering blog hype from their singles and love for their live shows they were soon playing the length of country and beyond. From London’s club scene to a host of festivals including Secret Garden Party, SWN, Sheffield Tramlines and Standon Calling and across Europe from gigs in Paris to an Italian tour. With 2 years of gigs sharing the bill with bands like Metronomy, The XX, Friendly Fires, Three Trapped Tigers and Two Door Cinema Club, the band were ready to consolidate their successes and refocus their energies. At the end of 2010 three became five as Portasound welcomed two new band members. Thom 'House' Ellinas, multi-instrumentalist and Graham Gaffney. The band are in the studio until 2012. How it came to pass Once upon a time, or so the legend goes;
