Portasound's brand new single and their first 'concept single'. To support the release of Portasound's first single release as a five piece they have taken their concept of instrumental narrative and expanded it. The extended single tells the tale of a great and distant war. Part 1. Call to Arms' majestic call for warriors reigns out across a synthetic landscape as riders march out of their encampments. Part 2. Messerschmitt, in which our heroes step into the throws of a brutal and bloody battle against impossible odds. Part 3. Bones. As the dust settles on the dark and blackened landscape we follow the mourners and scavengers as once proud men have their mortal remains plundered. The band have tried to develop a fully fledged narrative in their sound with this extended single format. In the days where single releases have become more throw away and physical releases are beyond most bands they felt they needed to experiment and find a new way to present music to the listener. Portasound have also commissioned Telegramme studio to create a beautiful iconographic language to Portasound's new landscape. Each single will be represented by a new symbol, creating almost medieval tapestry of imagery reminiscent of Egyptian Hieroglyphics or Aztec temple carvings. We hope you enjoy the music.
