The band PODVRCH is a rare phenomenon on the European musical scene without question. This Prague group operates with an old traditional lyrics and musicalizes them by authentic melodies influenced not only by Czech and Moravian folklore, but also by traditional melodies from all around the world, classical music as well as rock classic. Thus comes up an unique combination of traditional music, rockmusic and worldmusic, which is moreover exponentiated by uncommon composition of musicians – string quartet, electric guitar, bassguitar and drums. Concerts marking with an extraordinary charge of energy shoving out of a stage have already gained a lot of excited fans on prominent Czech festivals and club stages. In actual personnel cast Solich – leading vocal, violin, samples Jiri Kubicek – bass guitar, vocal, samples Milan “Karel” Klindera – guitars, violin, vocal Zuzana Perinova – viola, vocal Ivana “Tibety” Kubickova – violin, vocal Martin Rychta – drums, percussion, vocal has the group just released brand new CD “Marriage” /June 2005/ where can one find a collection of extraordinarily arranged folk songs.
